THE PHOTOGRAPHERS WEEKEND HOUSE

LOCATION : KARJAT, MAHARASHTRA

AREA : 2,170   SQ. FT.

COLLABORATION : YVK ASSOCIATES (PROJECT LEAD)

The Photographer's Weekend House, a one-of-a-kind retreat nestled in the lush green hills of Karjat, where nature meets avant-garde design. This extraordinary villa is an architectural marvel, designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings while offering unparalleled views and a sense of tranquility.

Unlike traditional constructions, The Photographer's Weekend House has no concrete walls. Instead, the structure is composed entirely of a stainless steel (SS) frame system, which lends it a sleek, modern aesthetic while ensuring durability and strength. The angular design of the villa is both striking and functional, creating a unique visual identity that harmonizes with the rolling hills and dense greenery that envelop the property.

The villa’s design incorporates a lower sloped area, where the master bedroom is located. This bedroom is a sanctuary in itself, featuring a wide, floor-to-ceiling opening window that frames breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The expansive glass not only invites the beauty of the outdoors in but also floods the room with natural light, creating a serene and inspiring environment—perfect for a photographer seeking peace and creativity.

The open and airy design of the villa ensures that every corner is bathed in natural light, while the stainless steel structure provides a minimalist backdrop that allows the surrounding landscape to take center stage. Despite its modern, industrial appearance, the house is warm and inviting, with the open design fostering a strong connection with nature.

One of the most impressive aspects of The Photographer's Weekend House is the meticulous attention to detail in concealing essential systems. All utilities, from the water tank to electrical services, are cleverly integrated into the structure itself, ensuring they are completely hidden from view. This clean, unobtrusive design approach allows the villa to maintain its minimalist aesthetic, free from any visual clutter.
